About Voices Weaving
Voices Weaving is a song co-creation project for community choirs and vocal collectives. Through a series of workshops, facilitated by composer Michael Betteridge and a writer, singers collaborate to create their own new song and music video. Exploring resonant themes of identity and belonging, the songs reveal the joy of singing together and the stories of a community.
We are so happy to share out music and poetry videos, created in collaboration with filmmaker Luca Rudlin and movement director Ruth Jones, alongside sheet music and song resources to give choirs worldwide the tools they need to perform the eight co-created songs. Pilot videos
In 2022, a pilot phase of co-creation project, Covid Song Cycle [working title] took place across the north of England with four very different and distinct community choirs:
